Uses of IVs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes IV Therapy beneficial?

IV therapy is the fastest and most effective way to deliver fluids, vitamins, and medicines throughout the body.

IV therapy bypasses the digestive system when you can’t keep fluids down, and takes everything direct to the bloodstream for immediate absorption.

    IV therapy is perfect for:

    Good Health

    General fatigue

    Hangovers

Athletes recovering or preparing for an event/competition

    Flu/viral illness symptoms

    Rejuvenate and hydrate your skin

    Migraines

    Nausea/Vomiting

    Headaches

    B12 Deficiency

    Food poisoning

    E Coli

    Immune Boost

    Cancer Patients

  • What is your IV Yellow? Is this a Banana Bag?

The B Complex (yellow) or B12 (red) that is added to IV changes the color of the Saline. Drinking alcohol depletes both fluids and Vitamin B1; we replace this to help you recover faster.

The Myers Cocktail is the same thing as a banana bag!

  • Who should get IV Therapy?

Almost anyone! Dependent on your health history, most everyone will benefit from receiving an IV hydration from Hydrate You IV.

  • How often should I get IV Therapy?

This is dependent on you and your needs. Some patients receive IV therapy drips weekly for wellness or specific conditions. Patients commonly have a few IV drips over several days to help fight off a chronic or acute illness, food poisoning, e coli, flu or other bacteria/virus.

Many patients find that getting an IV at the first sign of a migraine will lessen it’s severity or prevent it altogether – some migraine sufferers even keep us on speed dial! Patients frequently call us as-needed for hangover recovery, athletic recovery, or to help with dehydration from working in the summer heat and sun.

  • I’m hard to stick with a needle. What if you can’t get the IV in?

All of our medical professionals, paramedics and RN’s, are very skilled and seasoned at giving IV’s while using techniques and products to minimize pain as well.

Since our IV services are not administered in an emergency situation, we can be patient in finding the best access. Although very rare, if we are unable gain IV access, we may still be able to help with our intramuscular medications.

If we can’t get a catheter set, there will be no charge for the service.

  • What ages do you treat?

Hydrate You IV treats all ages and even young patients. We have found that kids under 9 are scared and not cooperative. We will never treat a child that has to be restrained or is visibly or verbally declining the treatment.

  • How long does it take?

Our IV appointments usually take anywhere from 30-45 minutes.

  • Do you take insurance?

We do not accept health insurance, but we do accept HSA, FSA, Cash, Check, Debit, and Credit.

  • Who is your most commonly seen patient?

We have many different patients that we see. General illness, fatigue, and dehydration are our most frequently seen patients, along with hangovers & food poisoning.

  • Do you use medical professionals?

We operate under a strict set of protocols that our Doctor and medical director has approved; all treatments are via standing orders, as such you don’t need a Rx from your doctor.

All of our medical professionals are paramedics and nurses who are certified, trained, and skilled to administer IV’s.

  • Who should NOT get an IV?

IV Fluids can be administered to pretty much anyone who has a steady and safe blood pressure, and not on dialysis.

Also, we will not administer an IV to those experiencing a medical emergency that requires a higher level of monitoring and care.

  • How often should I do a B12 shot?

B12 or B12 MIC (Skinny Shots) are typically done weekly, and can aid in weight loss  and energy production.

  • What is Gluthathione and what does it do?

Master Antioxidant produced in the body

    Nervous system health

Protects against free radicals and oxidative stress

  • I'm on hospice, can you treat me?

YES! We have many hospice patients that we assist on a schedule.

  • My HSA or FSA rejected my claim for my IV, what can you do?

We can only provide you a receipt to submit.

  • Do you access ports?

We are able to access ports on occasion, but in most instances, try to avoid them if possible.
